Power-washing - High pressure water (3,000 psi ) is used to remove the exterior layer of weathered (discolored and dry) wood as well as remove debris from between the boards. The wood now looks much newer and free of the organic mater that can rot the joists and decking. The strong more new like cells are exposed and should be preserved soon after.
Bleaching - Oxalic acid crystals mixed with water and sprayed on with low pressure. This lessens and often gets rid of completely black nail marks and other darker areas. It also brightens the wood, aids in killing any growth present and prepares it for preservative.
The area at the bottom of this picture has started to look better after being sprayed a few seconds before.
Preservative - One flood coat of our specially formulated stain made by Preserva-Wood maintains the natural look of the wood. More importantly, the stain protects the wood from weathering with UV protection and oils that mimic those not present once the tree is cut down.
Our methods of application are:1)Rolling and/or 2)Brushing
Spraying is difficult at best and is used only if unfeasible not to.
The result is natural, new looking wood that is not difficult to deal with when maintenance it necessary.
